Currently, the "Upsert" build behavior is only available for Build to destination. It would be great if we were able to utilize this feature in our Elasticube model where we are not building to destination. We have numerous tables containing created date as well as updated date that are attached to an id field but are unable to use the updated date field since this will bring in duplicate (or more) rows per id which we can not have. Ranking duplicates and filtering out is not a sustainable with the size of our datasets. The ability to look at the id and updated field would solve this issue without the need for a complex workaround in our data source (Big Query). Thank you! ... View more

It would be cool if our end users could receive a Digest Email that is sent out on a frequent basis from Sisense. This email would be most relevant if it was based on the groups a user is assigned to already. This would ensure relevant communication, as well as ensure there is control over the reports included in the digest that the user would already have access to them. We would not want the digest email to included recommended reports the user doesn't already have access to. If it was a feature the Admin could turn on/off at the group level that would be our preference. The feature would allow the Admin to select how often the digest went out (weekly, monthly, etc). The feature would allow the Admin to select what content was included: For example:  Changes, Top Used/Popular in the Users Groups (i.e. Org), and then for us I think Newly Published Reports would be ideal.  This would allow an organization to choose whether every time a new dashboard is released the user is notified, for us we would prefer a section in the digest that has these 3 dashboards were released to your group(s).  Other BI tools do already offer this-- Attached is an example of the Power BI digest, as reference. Hello, It would be good to be able to export data to Excel from the Dashboard menu. Currently, one dashboard containing 3 widget requires to go to each widget and export to Excel, resulting in 3 diffrente Excel spreadsheets. Users are requesting to be able to export every widget data into one single Excel file / each data widget in one seperated tab. I have a data model with lots of tables (more than 30). That makes the UI painfully slow, e.g. when editing relationships. I think the reason is that it’s calculating where to place them on the screen. I’d like to request an alternative, crude interface that doesn’t slow down for lots of tables. Or make it work for lots of tables – e.g. do the positioning calculations when first opening, but not each time I resize or click on something. ... View more

When adding a dependent filter, the only [available] lock option is a group lock. It is more useful having the ability to lock the primary filter but allow for dependent filtering. For example, if I lock an audit title, I want to retain the ability to filter specific question(s) within the audit. If both are locked as a group, I have to ensure end users know how to filter through the widget, which can be difficult if the full text of the question does not display or the user is not proficient. ... Currently, the aggregation function depends on the type of the dimension : - Text or date => Distinct count - Numeric => Sum In our use case, this default assignation is not always accurate as it is sometime required to use Distinct Count with numeric fields. It would be good to hauve the default aggregation function to be choosed by the cube designer, when developping the metadata layer (ElastiCube or Live cube). This way, the dashboard designer will be proposed the accurate function without need to change it. This is particlary interesting with a users population that don't have analytics background and for which choosing the correct agregation function is not obvious. Thank you ... View more

We would like the ability to export table widget data to Excel.  While CSV is supported, we have had customer complaints because they format in the CSV file and forget to save as Excel, losing the work they've done.  We prefer this is a Sisense feature over use of a plugin as plugins require additional operational overhead to maintain and upgrade. ... Every day we process our elasticubes and they always process in the same sequence.  Users are able to create dashboards that have widgets from different elasticubes.  However when they select to send the dashboard by email on "Every Elasticube Update" this sends after the first of the elasticubes has processed, rather than waiting until all of them have updated.  This means users are emailed dashboards that have some data correct, and some that is old. I think the solution would be an option to send after all of the elasticubes in the dashboard have updated, or to select a specific one, if the elasticubes generally build in a particular order. It would be good if this could be considered for enhancement as users wouldn't want to receive partially correct dashboards in this situation. Thanks, James ... View more

Hi, We are facing some issues in the hour timezone related to builds. There's no way to change the UTC setting for the build schedule. It's very confusing and it's generating many issues in timezones when there are changes in the hour due to summer/winter time adjustments. We tried to change the timezone in the upgrade process, but the build schedule only works in UTC. This is a nightmare for data administrators. Allow widget designers to turn off the display of the Grand Totals calculation for certain columns in a pivot table. Situations exist for which it is highly beneficial to display the Grand Total of a select few columns in a pivot table, and not to show others as they can be misleading or distract from the primary purpose of the pivot table. There are many scenarios where a model contains data for many distinct groups, such as customers, and you want viewers to only have access to the data that pertains to their specific customer. This is easily implemented with row level security, when there is a data column that uniquely identifies each customer. But what if you have a requirement that certain types of viewers should see all columns of data per row, while others should not have access to certain columns? Here is an approach that can be implemented right out of the box in Sisense. The one prerequisite is that any table that contains sensitive data must have a column that uniquely identifies every row, i.e. a primary key column. For every table that contains sensitive data in certain columns, create a new table that contains the original table's primary key column, a binary "switch" column with a name like [Access Allowed] and a column for each of the sensitive columns. Remove the sensitive columns from the original table. Modify the import query to load only the non-sensitive columns in the original table. Modify the import query to load the new table with the primary key and sensitive columns of the original table twice, once with [Access Allowed] set to 1 and the second time with 0 and blank (or null) for all the sensitive columns. Associate the new table to the original table by primary key column Create a dimension table for secure access with the column [Access Allowed]. One row with value 0, one row with value 1. Associate the dimension table with the sensitive data table by the [Access Allowed] column. Set up a data security rule on this column, assigning the secure user group to value 1 and the general group to value 0 If there is a hierarchy greater than two levels of column-level data security, this model can be extended to create additional one-to-one related tables to the original table. ... There are some dashboards where we don't want people messing with the filters.  Or where filters aren't needed to be changed, and we want the maximum "real estate" available for the body of the dashboard. I know you can hide the left- and right-hand panes with script, but this really should be an option exposed in the dashboard designer UI, as a setting for that dashboard. Scenario: embedded Sisense By default, when creating a new widget, Sisense puts the user into the widget "Wizard Mode", which then requires the use to click "Advanced Configuration" to view the full-feature widget editor. Because a non-trivial amount of the population is colorblind, it's a best practice to never rely solely on color when indicating behavior or status of a UI element. The filter-pane buttons are by default, I think, green for positive selection, red for exclusion, and grey for unselected. It would be better if there was also a small icon in the button that would indicate checkmark if positive, "X" if negative, and blank if unselected. It seems strange to me that each time I need to add another table to my model, I have to re-enter all the connection (or pick a recent connection). If i have 10 tables in my model, they all have their own individual connection information. If a server name ever gets renamed, it'll be a crazy headache for us. There should be a place where you define the distinct list of actual database connections (one per server or database), give it a name, apply security, etc. And then when you go to add a table to a data model, at that point you pick from the previously defined available list of connections. ...
