When we are building pivot tables, sometimes there is a need to sort things by the columns. If I want to show a pivot table with a Team Lead as the rows, Total Spend and Total Volume as the values, and Weeks as the the columns, I have no way to sort this to show the date in descending order and keep the table structure the way I want to see it. When using dependent filters and selecting new filter values this automatically resets all filter values already chosen.  Whilst this is desirable from a security perspective, not all models have security applied.  The proposition here is to have a toggle or similar that the designer/owner of the dashboard can use to turn this behavior on/off.  Thus the reset reasoning behind this can be maintained if required for that model or use case and the behavior can be turned off if non resetting is optimal for the use case needed. ... NOTE: This is based on a post I made in the "Help & How To" forum. It was recommended to me to make a post here, in the Product Feedback forum, about it. There should be a way for Sisense to display the currently-selected filter values directly on the dashboard. I know that users can see this by expanding the right-hand sidebar to see the Dashboard Filters, and it's also a display option when you export to PDF. However, these aren't always obvious or available to the intended audience for the dashboard. For example, if I have a dashboard that's setup with a dashboard-level filter for "Work Group", it would be nice if I could display - directly on the dashboard itself - what work group is currently being filtered down to. Also, some of the values can be unclear, especially for date filters that use colloquial language such as "This Year" or "Last Quarter". There should be some way of displaying the exact date ranges that are being filtered for. For example, if today is November 13th 2024, then the "Last Quarter" filter value would mean dates from July 1st 2024 through September 30th 2024. But after the new year, if I were to check the dashboard again on January 6th 2025, then the date range would instead be from October 1st 2024 through December 31st 2024. Currently, in both cases, it'll just still how as "Last Quarter" and it's up to the user to figure out what that means (which can be difficult if they're looking at a static printout from some unknown time in the past). Other time periods can also be ambiguous or prone to misunderstanding. For instance, it's common to see people assume "Last Week" means a rolling time period covering the last 7 days, rather than the prior calendar week. Hi, I have issue with setting two date dimensions in dashboard. The goal I want to achieve is to have a history of records, which are also have it's own date dimension. You can download model and dashboard. I would like to have difference in growth ower selected period for defined dates. For example 2 days ago I sold a car for 1000, and yesterday the proce have changed to 1500. The sale date is for today. So the growth over 2 days is 1500, and for 1 day 500. Additionally i would like to compare those values to previous year, and go back with both date dimensions. Tricky part is also, that if there is not sale for this year, PastYear() wont count prior year. I tried to play around with filtered measure plugin, however it doesn't give me exactly what i want. We use jump to dashboard to allow users to view a data table to give them context to the chart they are looking at. For large data sets, this can lead to millions of records. The issue comes up when users try to then export this table. It would be nice if there was a way to set a hard limit to the number of records returned in a table/table with aggregation. When users try to download too large of a table, it impacts server performance for everyone, and the only way to really limit the tables right now and still allow them to be filterable on all required fields is not efficient (rank filter on a semi-unique identifier using the max of a unique identifier). I am looking to place simple guard rails into how much data can be exported into one file, I am flexible as to where this option presents itself and how - either a count of max records or a file size works. Having an option to set the max number of records returned in this widget type also would work. I would be fine with this as an option buried in the configuration settings page or within the admin page itself. I just want the option present somewhere. ... View more

When viewing a datamodel, there's a button to view as "List" instead of "Diagram". I sometimes use that when I need to methodically check each table. When I first open the datamodel the sort is arbitrary, so I click to sort by Name to go through them alphabetically. It'd be handy if it remembered my choice from my previous session. ... View more

When we send more than one Combined Excel Report while using a dashboard having different filters on it. Names of those combined Excel sheet we get from them is same as they were using same dashboard for creating a report, which is difficult to identify when downloaded simultaneously. Our users often unnecessarily/mistakenly create filters at the Widget level when, really, it may make better sense for that filter to be applied at the Dashboard level. Had a suggestion from a user yesterday to add a menu button for Widget filters that will move/convert the filter from the Widget layer to the Dashboard layer. When editing a cube or live data source, I'd like to be able to more quickly add another table.  Right now, you click on the  +DATA button at the top, and get presented with all the historical connections, etc. Instead, what if you add an "Add Table" button inside the Data Sources panel?: That is, under the triple dots in red, have a new option to quickly reuse that connection and add another table. When generating the WAT token, we need to pass the Sisense user ID in the 'sub' parameter. To obtain the user ID, we must repeatedly call the Sisense APIs, which can be inefficient. After using the following property in customize JTD widget script for Pivot widget, JTD is enabled for all rows.  drillToDashboardNavigateTypePivot: 1 It would be great if we have an option of enabling JTD for specific rows.  For example, we are having 4 rows and 2 value columns in the pivot but want to have JTD linked to only "row2" and have that "row2" data passing to JTD as filter (as shown in the picture). Hello, It would be good to be able to export data to Excel from the Dashboard menu. Currently, one dashboard containing 3 widget requires to go to each widget and export to Excel, resulting in 3 diffrente Excel spreadsheets. Users are requesting to be able to export every widget data into one single Excel file / each data widget in one seperated tab. Currently, the aggregation function depends on the type of the dimension : - Text or date => Distinct count - Numeric => Sum In our use case, this default assignation is not always accurate as it is sometime required to use Distinct Count with numeric fields. It would be good to hauve the default aggregation function to be choosed by the cube designer, when developping the metadata layer (ElastiCube or Live cube). This way, the dashboard designer will be proposed the accurate function without need to change it. Two problems: Datamodels store old connection information without the user being aware. That increases the chance of accidentally exposing credentials to a different security context. Sisense R&D said that the reason is to show Recent Sources. When you change a dataset, you can end up with two copies of the dataset, which is confusing.   Ideas for improvements (take some or all): Sisense could track the Recent Sources separately. Then Sisense could automatically remove empty datasets. Sisense could show empty datasets under Data Sources in the data model editor UI, and give the user a delete button for them. The Data Model editor could have a drag-and-drop to move tables between data sources. Make it an optional, per-widget setting. ---Details:--- Sometimes I build a dashboard with a "main" widget for the user to explore, plus a few indicator widgets above it. It'd be nice if, when the user drills on the main widget, their choices were applied to the dashboard filters. That way, my indicators would reflect what they've drilled into. But that should be an option in the widget settings; other times I have a dashboard with several major widgets and drilling into one should not filter the others. When the user un-drills (clicks the cross or a breadcrumb to return to the overview), that should automatically remove the associated dashboard filter. It would be really useful to have a hierarchy filter displaying parent-child relationship. Currently when we create a filter, it just displays all the members in the entity.  If there is a relationship between the members its not possible to identify it directly in 1 filter, the only way around is create dependent filters. But that too would get tedious, as everytime we have go through multiple filters to see the members in each sub filter. Example: If there is a relationship as below: In this case, the table has the name and parent name as 2 separate columns. So the filter could display members as below in a tree format which can be collapsed or expanded, such that there is a check box next to the member and user can select the individual members, or a group of members.
