We use jump to dashboard to allow users to view a data table to give them context to the chart they are looking at. For large data sets, this can lead to millions of records. The issue comes up when users try to then export this table. It would be nice if there was a way to set a hard limit to the number of records returned in a table/table with aggregation. When users try to download too large of a table, it impacts server performance for everyone, and the only way to really limit the tables right now and still allow them to be filterable on all required fields is not efficient (rank filter on a semi-unique identifier using the max of a unique identifier). I am looking to place simple guard rails into how much data can be exported into one file, I am flexible as to where this option presents itself and how - either a count of max records or a file size works. Having an option to set the max number of records returned in this widget type also would work. I would be fine with this as an option buried in the configuration settings page or within the admin page itself. I just want the option present somewhere. ... View more

Jump To Dashboard add-in It lists dashboards with the _drill_ prefix. It lists only dashboards using the same datasource. I have a drill-down dashboard that uses two datasources: one that matches my parent dashboard, and one that shows more granular information. There is no option to modify table columns width in notebook results. This means that if I query a dataset of accessed URLs, where the end of the line matters most I cannot see anything beyond the domain name.  Optional workarounds are hovering row by row or exporting all results to CSV. Both are cumbersome. Modifying columns width seems to be a common notebook functionality in similar solutions, so it would be nice if Sisense could support this as well.  ... View more

The Data Security tab's group/user assignment window currently has a max search limit of 20 results.   The "results" search limit should be configurable because we have approx. 50 groups that need to be assigned, & it is very difficult to find/assign/manage all of the groups when the search window does not return all of the appropriate results. ... When we send more than one Combined Excel Report while using a dashboard having different filters on it. Names of those combined Excel sheet we get from them is same as they were using same dashboard for creating a report, which is difficult to identify when downloaded simultaneously. When generating the WAT token, we need to pass the Sisense user ID in the 'sub' parameter. To obtain the user ID, we must repeatedly call the Sisense APIs, which can be inefficient. It would be beneficial if we could directly include the Sisense username or email in the 'sub' parameter, thereby avoiding unnecessary API calls to retrieve the Sisense user ID. Create a pivot widget of RSUM( [Total Quantity] ) over time (rows) and break by (columns) age range. Scanning down each column, over rows, the numbers only increase. Now change it to a line widget. The break by defaults from an RSUM within columns in the pivot to an RSUM within rows in the line chart. This is the same as not having an RSUM and doing a stacked area. Our clients expect the line chart the results from changing the pivot to a line chart, to reflect the same output as the source pivot. As it stands now, they are surprised to see negative curvature in their RSUM, think something is broken, and open a support ticket. The default behavior should be to render Break by Columns instead of Rows. As an aside, I'm having trouble coming up with, and would be interested in hearing, use cases for charts with break by set to rows.  ... View more

The content/formatting/text contained in the various Sisense-generated/automated emails is currently static. I went through a long dialog with support and determined that  it's not customizable by customers. I would like it if we could modify these emails, and I'd especially like to have access to dynamic variables that we can insert in the email body (or subject). User's first name or last name were specific for my use case, but having access to a variety of variable could be helpful. ... View more

"Analyse SQL" helped me understand some widget measure formulas and filters. I wanted to then experiment with it in Sisense's "SQL Runner", but that didn't work: the query is too large, and it uses strange names for tables and columns (aFactXwAaSaleXwAaorders for the table Fact_Sale_orders, and aCountryCode for the CountryCode column). It'd be helpful if you modified SQL Runner and/or Analyse SQL so that I can paste results, edit, and run them. The purpose to help me investigate questions such as "How does this filter affect my measure?" or "What does my colleague's horribly convoluted measure formula mean, why is it wrong, and how might I fix it?" or "Is my widget doing unexpected joins?". Windows Sisense currently has no way for us as administrators to control how much ram is being used by elasticubes. From looking at the community site, it appears that linux has a way to do this through data groups, but when consulting with support, I have been told to increase our resources, simplify our models, etc.   The big problems that we have observed at my company is that 1. Sisense seems to take up the resources it is given - when ram is increased, usage percentage stays at the same level 2. If something does go wrong and resources begin to get consumed, there are no guard rails in place to stop whatever incident is happening from taking down the whole server This second case has happened only a few times in the years we have had Sisense, but I don't like that I have no way to be proactive about these issues.  ... Our clients find that the sorting option is not available in Pivot widget, but it's available in Table widget; and on the other hand, we have available the "Drill into" and "Jump To Dashboard" features in Pivot widget, but it's not available in Table widget. That is why I suggest that we should have the feature to "Drill into" and "Jump To Dashboard" in Pivot widget, because that way we'll have all the functionalities needed to sort, drill into and jump to other dashboards in this Pivot widget. I want an option to remove the "Can Design" role when sharing dashboards (yaml? admin settings? does it already exist?). I dislike the role because: Users don't realise that they're editing a temporary copy, and that the owner can Republish to overwrite. They might make many changes, and then months later someone republishes the owner/master version. I'm not entirely sure if republish always overwrites - if the user has made changes, do they keep their version when you republish or get the new one? If they keep theirs, it makes it confusing when trying to make changes requested by a user, because you make a change, click republish, and then the user forgets to click the revert-to-master-button.
