Rolling 12 months based off a end month date filter

I have monthly totals that i want to average and display on the dashboard.  Once the user picks a End Month date we want the dashboard to display everything for the 12 month up to the end month date.  If the date picked is 7/2024 it will show the records from 7/2024 to 8/2023 and only total that set even if there are more month before and after those dates. How should this be done built out?

I tried the widget script listed the first one and it didn't work. the BloX option is for preset dates (current month, last month, so on).  the second one you list does not change if the user changes the dashboard filter.
