Rolling 12 months based off a end month date filter

I have monthly totals that i want to average and display on the dashboard.  Once the user picks a End Month date we want the dashboard to display everything for the 12 month up to the end month date....

I tried the widget script listed the first one and it didn't work. the BloX option is for preset dates (current month, last month, so on).  the second one you list does not change if the user changes the dashboard filter.
