Resolving Export Limitations in Sisense

This article addresses the inability to export more than 50,000 rows from a table in CSV and PDF formats in Sisense. The issue arises when the widget displays over 50,000 rows, but the export only includes 50,000 rows.

Steps to Resolve the Issue

  • Upgrade your Sisense version to the L2023.2 release or newer. This version allows admins to set up query limits consistent with the Live Data Model settings.
  • Configure the WidgetQueryLimit settings as follows:
    • Open the Admin tab.
    • Click on System Management (Under Server & Hardware).
    • Click on Configuration (in the top right corner of the page).
    • Click 5 times on the Sisense logo (in the top left corner of the page).
    • Click on Base Configuration (under General).
    • Scroll down to the WidgetQueryLimit section. Expand the WidgetQueryLimit configuration area and adjust the current default settings as required.
  • After updating the widget query limit settings, click the Save Base button. The new configuration will be applied after the services are restarted.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Do not modify any other settings in Base Configuration, as it may damage your instance if changes are made without a clear understanding of those settings. Reach out to support if guidance is needed.
  • If the issue persists with downloading Excel spreadsheets (with pivots) - it still caps at 50000, but works when exporting as a CSV file, adjust the setting to 2000000000 for LimitOfDownloadRowsForLive.
  • If the issue still persists, it may be due to a limitation in the software. In this case, contact Sisense Support for further assistance.
