Sometimes just resizing (and then sizing back), refreshing, or republishing fixes it for more. If not, I've gone in to edit the widget and usually just delete/re-add the column. Don't have a reason for it, but in all my cases it's been temporary. Re: Conditional formula based on value from chart Another way (if I'm understanding correctly) would be to add a "helper column" at the data model level Custom column would be: CASE WHEN DATE_TRUNC(last_seen, DAY) >= DATE_TRUNC(launch_time) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END Then you can filter your unique count by that field (and only include those with a value of 1) Re: Rolling 30 Calculations: Counts NOT Avg/Sum Unfortunately, that gives me the sum of the unique ids each day for 30 days b/c my data set has the same account listed on multiple days (all days it was paying). I need to get the unique count over the 30 days (so each account is only counted one time, even if it appears on multiple days). I'll keep playing around and see what I can find Rolling 30 Calculations: Counts NOT Avg/Sum Hi all! I found this article: https://community.sisense.com/t5/knowledge/rolling-trailing-12-months/ta-p/565 on how to do rolling calculations if you have averages or sums. Unfortunately, I need to do a rolling 30 day unique count - I want to know the rolling 30 # accounts we have by day... Can't do it in SQL/Table level b/c want to be able to filter and get new values (e.g. rolling 30 for account type A vs. rolling 30 for account type B) Also found this and tried to put count unique in for average (with a range), but it gave me the same date multiple times over and over (so wasn't working): https://www.rapidbi.com.au/members/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/rolling-average-or-relative-date-range-on-dashboards--widgets Anyone have tips/solution on how to get this calculation? Anyone using rolling X at the formula level (rather than the custom column/table level)? Tips on Managing Formulas / Getting Consistent Calculations Question for y'all: How do you maintain consistent calculations of key metrics? Custom columns in the data model won't work b/c I need aggregations that can be easily filtered (e.g. can't add activation % to my base table b/c my stakeholders want to know what it is for different industries etc). Formulas work great, but there isn't an easy way to lock them so I know the other analysts use the exact same ones. Plus, if I change the underlying data model or if I decide to update the formula, I have to start over. Would love to know how y'all deal with this? In case it matters: we have a Sisense hosted deployment and are leveraging live models Look forward to learning from what's worked in practice! Sisense and Slack... Looking for Inspiration and Successes! Hi all! We're a fairly Slack-first Saas company, and I'm definitely planning to make use of the integrations we advance our Sisense skills. Would love reading/seeing any examples of how you've been successful infusing Sisense into Slack! Also any tips, tricks, best practices, or lessons learned are welcome Re: Unit Conversions as a Dashboard Filter Ahh realizing you want them to change the filter but NOT exclude it all together - apologies for reading to fast! That I don't know... if I figure it out I'll share! Re: Unit Conversions as a Dashboard Filter You can definitely lock a filter at the dashboard level (I'm doing this with some important ones so people know they're there but don't mess with them). On the filter box, click the three dots in the upper right corner and then select "lock". That keeps the dashboard filter from being changed by viewers. I'm starting to think about the toggling results option as well, and plan to look into the Switchable Dimensions add-on once I get a little more experienced in the basics. https://www.sisense.com/marketplace/switchable-dimensions/ Requires editing script a bit - maybe someone here has used it before? Re: What are your preferred ways for making a lot of details available to your users? have you thought about explicitly noting the ability to filter using the 'affects dashboard filters'. One thing I'm doing more of these days is providing text boxes with guidance on how to use the dashboard, key things they should know. Recording a quick video could help too. I know that's not really about the widgets or visualizations themselves, but I'm increasingly focused on the guidance/training in the vehicle if I can. Re: Formulas - anyone having challenges? irismaessen - the extra parens did it - much appreciated! helps to have another set of eyes when you're coding all day 🙂
