Planning, Executing, and Monitoring your Dashboard

One technique I recommend entice better dashboard/report design is to ask customers "when" they are going to use the data. The "when" question comes with examples, such as time of day and day of the week. Different decisions take place at different moments of the day and this type of framing helps customers think about their decision process and reach a better "call to action".
For example:
- I will use report A on Monday morning to decide what my team will do during the week.
- I will use report B on Friday afternoon to check on performance of the week in relation to the previous week.
