report manager limitation
At Splash we have been using report manager for email delivery of reports to external partners. These are outside partners with minimum technical skills and want CSV reports delivered with data. We ended up solving his need using report manager plugin. There are several issues with report manager plugin that we have experienced in last few months and I wanted to understand if there is a different more stable and feature rich option for us. List of issues I am tracking No way for Sisense users to see who is on the email list, other than admins. Only Admins see the report manager tab. I would like users to manage or be able to review who is getting the reports. Email delivery is limited, who gets a report to answer I need to review each job manually. Error notification is never sent to the default email or the email provided in the job setup often due to server failure Intermittent failures with report delivery due to limitation on delivery efficiency or create some retry logic, to queue emails for retry Self serve ability, without buying more licenses how do we enable external partners to have a robust reporting platform where they can self serve. Example when they login they have access to a suite of reports that are canned reports ready to download each day. No SFTP delivery mechanism All report manager jobs appear in a list view, it is very cumbersome to manage I would like to understand how else can I leverage Sisense to build feature rich reporting capability. Let me know if you have a moment to connect. We have our sync coming up June 1st, but we can also connect prior to that. (edited)3.3KViews3likes9CommentsAvoid Javascript in many core widgets
Hi, There are many widget types that are part of the core of an analytical solution. Examples like Tabber, Jump to Dashboard, Accordion... are tools that the business users find very powerful and gives Sisense the fleixbility in the visualization that put the platform in the road to copete with powerful visualization tools like Tableau. But, the profile of most of designers are business analyst or business users. To use and to configure properly this kind of visualizations, makes them to enter in a Javascript world, that it's very confusing and dirty. It makes that the promise of "self service" is not to close. I should be great if the configuration of this kind of visualization will be made from an user interface, without the need to write JS code. Best2.8KViews15likes9CommentsEmail Digest for end users
It would be cool if our end users could receive a Digest Email that is sent out on a frequent basis from Sisense. This email would be most relevant if it was based on the groups a user is assigned to already. This would ensure relevant communication, as well as ensure there is control over the reports included in the digest that the user would already have access to them. We would not want the digest email to included recommended reports the user doesn't already have access to. If it was a feature the Admin could turn on/off at the group level that would be our preference. The feature would allow the Admin to select how often the digest went out (weekly, monthly, etc). The feature would allow the Admin to select what content was included: For example: Changes, Top Used/Popular in the Users Groups (i.e. Org), and then for us I think Newly Published Reports would be ideal. This would allow an organization to choose whether every time a new dashboard is released the user is notified, for us we would prefer a section in the digest that has these 3 dashboards were released to your group(s). Other BI tools do already offer this-- Attached is an example of the Power BI digest, as reference. Thanks!1.9KViews2likes6CommentsReport Manager - Adding a recipient without sharing the dashboard
Hello, Currently, when we want to add a recipient to a new dashboard schedule, the dashboard has to be previously shared with the recipient. If it isn't, the recipient doesn't show up in the autocompletion list (emails - users name). In that case you need firstly to go back to the dashboard, share it with the recipient, come back to ReportManager and finally, add the recipient to the new schedule. This is confusing to our users who in such case consider this as a bug. => New behaviour wished : When you add a recipient to a ReportManager schedule it automatically shares the dashboard with him. Which makes sense since if you want to send a dashboard to a user, it implies you want to share it with him.1.8KViews5likes4CommentsExported excel file to include date range the dashboard/widget was run
Currently, if we export the pivot as an excel/csv, there is no indication of the date range it was run for in the output file. It will be really helpful to have control on the exported output in excel or csv, such that we can include the date range of the result or other filters applied in the output.1.7KViews4likes6CommentsInclude All Dimension Values (Left Outer Join)
This is a request to enhance this feature in community thread of the same title. This is useful because it allows users to see all the available dimension for a particular list of filters even if there are no facts for it. I understand that we can also use this community thread; however, this is only limited to 1 dimension. However, right now, it does not work when [Columns] field are added into pivot table. We would like to add a date/day [Columns]. Ideally for us, the left outer join should only be by the [Row] and allow data to be broken into [Columns].1.6KViews13likes3CommentsFeature to export all datamodels from UI
We propose adding a valuable feature to our dashboard UI: the ability to export a comprehensive list of all data models, including both Elasticubes and live models. This enhancement is essential for efficiently monitoring model changes before and after Sisense upgrades. Presently, this process involves manual actions like taking screenshots or exporting a text file using 'si' commands, but it lacks the capability to export live models and essential metadata such as data model type, owner, last modification date, last publication date, activity, and size. By introducing export functionality in formats like CSV, users will be equipped to easily track and compare models, quickly identifying any discrepancies or replacements. This improvement will significantly streamline model management and ensure seamless transitions during upgrades.1.6KViews1like3CommentsAbility to create a Hierarchy tree filter
It would be really useful to have a hierarchy filter displaying parent-child relationship. Currently when we create a filter, it just displays all the members in the entity. If there is a relationship between the members its not possible to identify it directly in 1 filter, the only way around is create dependent filters. But that too would get tedious, as everytime we have go through multiple filters to see the members in each sub filter. Example: If there is a relationship as below: In this case, the table has the name and parent name as 2 separate columns. So the filter could display members as below in a tree format which can be collapsed or expanded, such that there is a check box next to the member and user can select the individual members, or a group of members. It would give the user a clear view of the relationship between different members:1.3KViews1like6Comments
