Better way of assigning color scheme for Sunburst chart

The default color scheme for the sunburst chart is defined per ring, while it should be per category. For example, category 1 has the red color, category 2 has green, and category 3 has blue color scheme

It would be nice if you could have the colors defined by the initial layer (Category 1) and then the children in subsequent layers (Category 2+) would inherit their color scheme from their parents. For instance, perhaps all the Category 1 items are in bright colors and then their children get progressively darker, or vice-versa.

You can set this manually for each item in each layer but it's extremely tedious, and doesn't scale well when you potentially have hundreds of items. Ideally this should happen automatically, i.e. if I set an item in Category 1 to be red, then all it's children will automatically be set to varying shades of that same red.
