Reset password using SSH

Can I use SSH to reset a user's password? How? I'd like it as an option in case an admin password gets lost and isn't recoverable by other means.

Hi @Tim,

Thank you for your question. You can use API to reset a users password and prompt them to create a new one. https://sisense.dev/guides/restApi/v0/?platform=linux&spec=L2023.11#/users/forgetPassword

I hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Have a great day!

All I've got is the SSH password in the scenario I'm thinking of. No API token/password.

So you are looking for a command line entry to reset a Sisense users password, is that correct? There is not a command for that. If you are trying to reset the pw for a user on the server, not a Sisense user, I recommend consulting the documentation for the Operating System.

Hi @Tim.

Were you able to get this resolved?
