How to update old pivot widget to pivot2 ?

HI,

We have been applying custom script to pivot widgets and noticed that it doesn't work for some pivot widgets from older dashboards. It turned out that script only works on pivot2 widgets and not for previous version.

We've tried duplicating widget but it doesn't resolve issue.

We have some workaround by changing widget type to another and back to pivot to update but we loose some formatting  and columns in the process.  

Can anyone suggest a better way of updating old pivot widget to new one? We're on Linux version.
