How do you turn a field into a formula?

I want to display a COUNT of 'Time Clock In' by Employee, and then I am going to do further math but the thing is, how do you turn it into a formula?

    Hi Jon 

    When adding a field to the row-segment it will always show all records. When you, however, move it to the Values-section it will turn the field into a measure and you can do a count or any other function.
