Limit Dashboard Sharing to a Group
Is there a way out of the box to limit users to sharing within their own group? For example: Group A has User 1 (designer), User 2 (viewer), and User 3 (viewer) Group B has User 4 (viewer) User 1 ...

This is possible. This used to be a plugin, but it is now an out of the box feature. Go to admin> app configuration>general settings. Scroll down and enable Limit Users Sharing to their own groups
You can also hide groups entirely from the share list by going to User management> groups > edit a group and enable hide from sharing
