How can I publish changes to a dashboard without resetting all users' saved default filters?

I'm currently onboarding new sets of users to use (as viewers) a set of dashboards in a "beta" program. I'm frequently making updates to the various dashboards and republishing them so my users can view the updates as part of the beta program's feedback loop. The issue I'm having is that whenever I republish a dashboard, it clears the 'My Default Filters' for all users, forcing them to reapply each filter and then resave the new default. 

Is there a way to republish a dashboard to all users without affecting their saved filter preferences? Obviously, if I change one of the filters I expect that to be affected, but I'd like to be able to save unrelated changes without blowing up the workflow for all my users.
