Dashboard filter still affects widget after deletion

I have deleted a blox dashboard filter but it still show and is still affecting widgets on the dashboard. None of the below dashboard filters are actually on the dashboard anymore. I have deleted them and want to create a new one but these old ones are still affecting the widgets. I know I can turn them off but if the filter is not longer on the dashboard then why does it still show in the filters section?

    Beginner mistake, you must delete the filter from the right hand pane as well.

    I added a new one with same data set and filter but it does not affect the dashboard and enabling the disabled ones still affects the dashboard with the old parameters even though it is deleted. It is like the filters are cached and I can't add new ones or modify them.
