It's great that in the formula editor one can add as much empty space as one likes to make the code as readable as possible... spaces, returns, blank lines, etc. Also great that fields in the formula editor can be renamed from what they are in the data browser to detail, for example, how a field is filtered. We can also hack that feature to add in a [Value]*0 as a comment. Still, revisiting big formulas is time consuming because of the lack of code comments. One can create an external repository that includes comments, but formulas cannot be copied and pasted from an external repository into the formula editor, making an external solution not much more helpful. So having a way of commenting in the formula editor, or a way to store formula code somewhere else that allows for commenting that also allows for easy update in Sisense when the code changes in the external repo.   ... Idea: Allow developers to build/test add-ons in a local environment rather than requiring a live environment. Note that this would be for the purpose of creating custom add-ons for additional functionality that would require testing on the "out of the box" Sisense UI. Background/Context: In most development workflows it is common practice to work on your code locally on your machine and deploy to a local server aka "localhost" to test/view your work in the browser. An example of this is building and deploying a local React.js app to your browser. As you make changes to the code it will recompile locally and update what you see on your localhost. If you're using Sisense out of the box however, to test/view any changes to an add-on developers are forced to upload the files in some way to a live Sisense Environment. This not only limits the innovation of add-ons to developers with an active license and live environment, it makes it painfully inefficient to develop customizations on top of the Sisense application. I understand there are likely some business concerns with allowing the use of the product locally but I'd argue that there are ways to prevent that, such as enforcing some default sample data etc., but in such a way that would give developers a "local playground" to develop/innovate on. ... It would be great to have settings that allow adjusting the limit of values in a Pivot Table, similar to the existing option for changing the maximum number of columns displayed. Currently, we can only adjust the maximum number of columns displayed in the Pivot Table configuration. This can be done via the Admin tab by navigating to Server & Hardware > System Management > Configuration. There are some dashboards where we don't want people messing with the filters.  Or where filters aren't needed to be changed, and we want the maximum "real estate" available for the body of the dashboard. I know you can hide the left- and right-hand panes with script, but this really should be an option exposed in the dashboard designer UI, as a setting for that dashboard. It would be great if Sisense would allow to sort a table/pivot by multiple values, combining ASC and/or DESC and indicating the sequence for sorting, e.g. by Field 1 ASC, then Field 2 DESC, etc. For instance, I am attaching an example with two values, so that I could sort based on % Compliance first and then by # Assignments, both in descending order. While using the calendar date range in a filter, you should be able to type in the to and from date.  The old style filters allowed that option.  We recently switched to the "new" style (I say "new" because they are only new to us ... I think they have been available in the product for a long time).  In the new style you have to use your mouse to pick the date on a calendar, you can't type it in.   ... View more

Hi, Working on a dashboard containing 3 pivot tables. Each have a lot of columns. (see print screen attached). In order to have a proper PDF, I need to turn the page format to A0 / landscape When exporting to PDF at the Dashboard level (from the pdf button top right), I access to a PDF setup, where I can choose the layout (landscape) and the paper format (A0), so that all the columns appears properly. In this screen, there is a Save button so that the PDF setup is saved for next time (see print screen) When exporting to pdf at a widget level, the same setup otions are available (landscape and A0), BUT THERE IS NO SAVE BUTTON. I have to redo this setup each time (see print screen). Could we have the the Save button on the widget / PDF option page, same as we have ar the dashboard / pdf option page please ? Thank you ... Similar to widow-orphan control of Paragraph page breaks in MS Word... it would be nice to have this in pivot tables too. That is, let's say the existing rows/subtotals in a pivot table take up 20 out of the "rows per page" value of 25.  If the next sub-section to display is going to take 3 rows, great, show that section.  But if the next sub-section is going to show 10 items, it means the subsection/subtotal will be split across two pages.  This is hard to remembe/digest/use when interacting with the dashboard.  With widow-orphan control, it would do a page break "early" before showing that next subsection of 10 items. ... We have a few dashboards where the displayed data is only valid when a SINGLE ITEM is selected for a filter. We want to have the standard dashboard filters that our users are used to, but we want to prevent them from selecting more than one item at a time.  In the attached image, we want the red highlighted areas to be disabled (not selectable) for non-owners/non-editors of the dashboard.  We should be able to publish the dashboard with a default value for the filter and allow them to select a different value, but not multiple values.  ... We have tried increasing the row limit for CSV download of live models to 250K rows but Report Manager is still limiting output to 5,000 rows which is the query setting of live models. We would appreciate a specific setting for Report Manager that determines the number of rows or have RM use the row limit defined for the report type (in this case CSV and 250K rows). Changing the query limit for the model does impact the report manager, but this impacts all users and every UI interaction, so the data retrieval volume explodes. Sisense charts show tooltips when you move the mouse above them. When showing those tooltips the website automatically formats numbers in the tooltip in order to simplify the reading and shrinks those numbers if they go above 10k. Most of the times this is what I want as a user, but not always. According to my observations, tooltips stop showing the real number and show a simplification when it goes above 10,000  (e.g instead of showing 16742 it will show 16.7k). This idea would be to allow this number to be displayed in full instead of the shrinked version. Sometimes it is just useful to see the real value and not the simplified one. As a user, I'd like to see the real one sometimes. There are two possible ways of implementing this that come to mind, in the Tooltip section when editing a graph: Add a checkbox, clickable, with the current behaviour by default "[ ] Show raw numbers". This would be below "[ ] Show Total in tooltip" Add a threshold numeric input so that users could manually specify from which number onwards the formatting would shrink (e.g 10,000 by default).  "Shrink numbers above: [            10000]" First option is simpler to understand, second one is more flexible.  Right now, the workaround I'm using is to Edit a chart, then click on "Output" in order to see the real numbers as a table, but this is inconvenient. With the "Jump to Dashboard" add-on installed & the "suppress _drill_" dashboard parameter configured, SiSense hides the _drill_ dashboards from everyone except the owner (which includes the sisenseadmin account).   As a result, it is hard for the administrator to view and/or manage _drill_ dashboards that are owned by a designer.   There is a workaround via F12 that SiSense showed me, but it's not intuitive.   It would be nice if there was a parameter to allow the sisenseadmin to always have the ability to see/edit the _drill_ dashboards (or perhaps that should be the default behavior). ... Currently, when you share a dashboard you can have it email the dashboard out to people following a couple different schedules: Every Elasticube update (with a limit on times per day) Daily (can specify which days and a time) Monthly (can specify which months and what day of the month) The trick is that elasticube updates includes failed updates.  I would like to add an option to exclude failed builds from triggering these dashboard update deliveries. Now that we have alerting for build failures, there doesn't seem to be a reason for dashboards to deliver without new information. ... View more
