This scenario is for embedded Sisense. When creating a new widget from scratch, it seems like the new Widget wizard selects either an Indicator or Pivot Table type of widget depending on the nature of the data being selected by the user. More often that not, this is resulting in a Pivot Table being the automatically selected widget type. Often times, our users do not need to use Pivot Tables; and since Pivot Tables are computationally more expensive to generate, this results in us incurring unnecessary expense for compute on our data warehouse. I don't want to block Pivot Tables -- I just don't want them to be default widget type. Currently every BloX widget has its own stylesheet that is defined separately from the look and feel of the rest of the Sisense application (apart from the action buttons, for some reason).  This is understandable for some out-there cases, but in many cases I've had to work with Blox, what I really want is for my Blox widgets to fit in with the look and feel of the rest of the dashboard -- in essence to use the same default stylesheet, if not as the whole dashboard application, then at least as other BloX widgets. The current 'stylesheet' in the widgets could then be used to overwrite any details for that particular widget, instead of it functioning as a full stylesheet every time. Thank you! ... View more

While using the calendar date range in a filter, you should be able to type in the to and from date.  The old style filters allowed that option.  We recently switched to the "new" style (I say "new" because they are only new to us ... For some reason when editing a Pivot for example you can get 3 options for sorting on the "rows" - DESC, ASC, and No Sort  However when using the sort in the Pivot table itself - there is only DESC and ASC order. Could you please add the "No Sort" option to the widget too? ... View more

I think table and custom table usage should be added to the scope of usage analytics. I have large data sources that have been around for many years. Often dashboards are unused (which I can currently track with usage analytics) and can be deleted or archived. But the data that drives them is much harder to keep track of. I have no way of knowing which tables are used in dashboards and which ones could be removed. This is especially true for custom tables that eat up build time and might not be used at all. ... Idea: Allow developers to build/test add-ons in a local environment rather than requiring a live environment. Note that this would be for the purpose of creating custom add-ons for additional functionality that would require testing on the "out of the box" Sisense UI. Background/Context: In most development workflows it is common practice to work on your code locally on your machine and deploy to a local server aka "localhost" to test/view your work in the browser. An example of this is building and deploying a local React.js app to your browser. As you make changes to the code it will recompile locally and update what you see on your localhost. If you're using Sisense out of the box however, to test/view any changes to an add-on developers are forced to upload the files in some way to a live Sisense Environment. This not only limits the innovation of add-ons to developers with an active license and live environment, it makes it painfully inefficient to develop customizations on top of the Sisense application. I understand there are likely some business concerns with allowing the use of the product locally but I'd argue that there are ways to prevent that, such as enforcing some default sample data etc., but in such a way that would give developers a "local playground" to develop/innovate on. ... It would be great to have settings that allow adjusting the limit of values in a Pivot Table, similar to the existing option for changing the maximum number of columns displayed. Currently, we can only adjust the maximum number of columns displayed in the Pivot Table configuration. This can be done via the Admin tab by navigating to Server & Hardware > System Management > Configuration. We have had several users complain that the way series selection for charts is not intuitive. Currently, when you have multiple series in a line chart and click on one in the legend, it gets disabled to highlight the others. The intent is to allow focus, but it's the wrong way around - most users expect that the item clicked should be selected and the others hidden. The current behaviour is quite painful if you want to see one series when there are several (you have to click on all the others). Is there a simple way to reverse the selection behaviour, or do we need to look at other options: wrap the control and handle it ourselves (possible?) build some drop-downs/UI to allow selection of whats shown some other neat UI work-around?? ... Every day we process our elasticubes and they always process in the same sequence.  Users are able to create dashboards that have widgets from different elasticubes.  However when they select to send the dashboard by email on "Every Elasticube Update" this sends after the first of the elasticubes has processed, rather than waiting until all of them have updated.  This means users are emailed dashboards that have some data correct, and some that is old. I think the solution would be an option to send after all of the elasticubes in the dashboard have updated, or to select a specific one, if the elasticubes generally build in a particular order. It would be good if this could be considered for enhancement as users wouldn't want to receive partially correct dashboards in this situation. Thanks, James ... View more

There are some dashboards where we don't want people messing with the filters.  Or where filters aren't needed to be changed, and we want the maximum "real estate" available for the body of the dashboard. I know you can hide the left- and right-hand panes with script, but this really should be an option exposed in the dashboard designer UI, as a setting for that dashboard. The Pivot table Excel download behaviour was recently changed. Previously, merged cells from the pivot table on the dashboard view would persist in a downloaded Excel file. Now, rows are not merged and are simply duplicated (as with the csv download). While there are some upsides to this, this is a change our users and customers have reacted negatively to, asking us to revert the change, which of course we are unable to do. We would like the option back for a download which maintains pivot table cell merging, replicating the way these appear in the dashboard.  ... View more

Currently the Analytics screen displays available dashboards in a "list" view or a "tile" view.  The "tile" view includes columns "Name", "Owner", "Data Sources", "Last Published", "Last Modified", "Total Viewers", "No. of Widgets".   This is a request to add a new column "Source Folder".  This would be helpful for users with a large quantity of dashboards as they could sort by the "Source Folder".  In the future, the list view functionality could be expanded to allow grouping by this column which would further consolidate the view. We want to remove some tables, but because we have many dashboards we don't know where exactly that table data is being used so it's very risky to change/delete tables.
