Better Name for Combined Excel Reports sent by Report Manager
Summary: Animesh Gupta inquired about the possibility of using the Report Title as the Excel file name instead of the Dashboard Name when sending Combined Excel Reports via Report Manager. They explained that having the same file name for different reports makes it difficult for recipients to differentiate between them. Animesh Gupta is seeking a workaround or confirmation on whether this feature might be supported or considered for future enhancement.
Hi Sisense Team,
We are currently using Report Manager to send Combined Excel Reports. At the moment:
The Dashboard Name is used as the generated Excel file name.
The Report Title is used as the email subject.
We would like to know if there is an option—or if it could be considered as a future enhancement—to use the Report Title as the Excel file name as well.
Use Case
We often use the same dashboard to send multiple reports simultaneously to clients. Since all generated files inherit the dashboard name, recipients receive multiple Excel attachments with identical file names, making it difficult to distinguish between them.
Using the Report Title as the file name would provide:
Better differentiation between reports
Improved user experience for recipients
Easier file management and identification
Has anyone found a workaround for this, or is this functionality currently supported?
Thanks in advance for your insights!
Animesh
